Lol what the fucking fuck? Here, I can play this game, too!
“Left side: The stereotypical conservative. In her early 20s. Boring. Has boyfriends. Obsessed with appearances. Probably studying “Business Management”, whatever four years of that looks like. Believes in Rush Limbaugh, that God gave her the right to make deeply personal and life-altering decisions for millions of strangers, posting judgmental someecards graphics on her Facebook, and her preacher’s unyielding authority. Uses her time online to call people she disagrees with godless heathens and sluts. Never completely gets offline because her Iphone connects her to all her social networks. Spends half her Friday nights drunk or hooking up; spends half her Saturday mornings in denial over how her behaviors fail to square with her constantly professed convictions. Spends the other half at the movies and the beach. Will vote for Romney because everyone else is a “baby killer” and a “socialist”. Gets her news from Fox News, but is typically oblivious to the world beyond her own front door (people only have problems because they’re lazy, so why should she be concerned with them?). Wants to grow up and be somebody important and famous. Walks around in short shorts and a Victoria Secret’s shirt and loves the attention. Would never carry an extra pair of panties in her purse because she is so deeply in denial about her promiscuity and so forces herself to have the most uncomfortable walks of shame.”
Is that how this works?!
See, that’s not too bad. Well-thought, legitimate gripes. What about the liberal boy? Where’s the other side? I mean, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but if you want to say mean things about conservatives, it looks shallow if you don’t say anything good about your side.
Also, I don’t know if you’re in to feminism, but you’re kind of saying all conservative women are sluts. Which… not a great way to advance feminism. Just a thought.
And while there is a horde of angry feminists whining that this isn’t true of them and they aren’t like that (none of whom would care if it didn’t hit dangerously close to the truth), I don’t see anyone saying that the conservative dude is a douche and his lifestyle is wrong. More food for thought.
Nope! I’m pointing out that most young people have sex regardless of professed religious convictions. The only difference is that the stereotypical conservative chick refuses to own it and and carry around spare underwear. You use “slut” like a slur, but I don’t view promiscuity as anything inherently negative or positive. It just is a behavior that a lot of people participate in, often with great relish. You assume I’m shaming people because you think it’s shameful behavior for women to have frequent sex and enjoy it. I do not.
I didn’t bother to write one for the dude because dudes are boring. Also, if it makes you happy, I will take down “conservative guy”: the conservative dude is probably a huge jerk that loves his white American family and would take a thousand bullets for them, but can’t even SEE the families and love between the brown people he is over there harming (and that sort of cognitive dissonance is a scary, dangerous thing). He’s obsessed with hypermasculinity and has caused emotional/mental (and possibly physical) trauma for countless people throughout life when they fell short of this hypermasculine ideal. Being “grown up” is subjective; but under my definition, it requires the ability to see the humanity in all human beings, regardless of your differences, as well as the sense and courage to refuse to do evil and monstrous things to others just because someone “higher up” has told you to do them. Conservative dude has failed horribly at these things. He spends his time in another country for work, but comes home months or years later without knowing jack shit about the culture(s) of the people native to the country he’s been occupying. He never wants to be famous or important because being exceptional might demand critical thinking, and he is deathly afraid of anything that will shake him from his “ignorance is bliss” safety zone built on a web of prejudices, half-formed arguments, and magical thinking.
Your assumptions betray. You assume because I think it’s shameful for women to run around having sex a lot, I don’t assume the same of men. Which would be a logical incosistency. But since I know that STDs, STIs and unwanted pregnancies are impossible if you don’t run around sleeping with lots of folks, I must be a typical neo-con, obsesssed with my religious beliefs.
Interestingly, you’re more sexist than I am because you label a whole gender as boring simply because that’s not your orientation. Even one that shares your viewpoints. That’s true of all feminists though. If it really was all about equality for everyone, they’d call themselves egalitarians. It’s not though, it’s about hating men, specifically well off, white men with religious views.
It’s automatically a white male family. Kind of racist, isn’t that? Also true of most feminist, due to their preoccupation with hating the white, male. Gay black people are born that way so it’s not ok to judge them for that but it’s totally cool if they are white and male? Interesting bit of “cognitive dissonance” if you ask me.
Actually, there’s a lot of cognitive dissonance here. It’s ok to hate men because they’re boring but not women because…. what’s the silly feminist argument again? Oh yeah, they’re oppressed and pressured by society and disadvantaged so it’s ok if you unequally assist and help them.
Here’s my favorite cognitively dissonant feminisit argument. People are born gay/lesbian. So wait… thousands (or millions, depending on your theory of creation) of years of natural selection and human evolution. Millions of lesbian and gay couples throughout history. None of them every reproducing? How was this hereditary or genetic trait passed on? Magic?
“Being grown up requires the ability to see humanity in all human beings.” But conservative guy is a jerk and a hypermasculine asshole, not a human being, trying to do something he believes in?
And I know your college professors taught you that everyone who joins the army just runs around shooting people but living overseas for a year or two really expands your viewpoint. It’s really difficult to go over there and not pick up a thing or 2 about the culture and the langauge. It can be done, but it’s really hard and rarely happens. The average servicemember knows a lot more about the people of the Middle East than the average philosophy grad.
But hey, who needs facts when you have feminism. Never mind that it’s a philosophy ever bit as hateful, prejudicial and sexist as your average right wing nutjob religious zealot.
I circle back to my original statement. You were making good points…And then it degenerated in to typical feminist emotionalism. Margaret Sanger is rolling in her grave because of women like you.
